Why You’re Not Hearing God About Your Business (And How to Fix It)

A modern entrepreneur in their 30s sitting at a clean desk in quiet morning light, journal open, Bible beside them, hands still in reflection. They’re looking out a window with peace on their face. The environment is minimalist, with a coffee mug and laptop closed to the side. Warm tones, soft lighting, professional yet calm vibe. Represents focus, stillness, and spiritual alignment.
Before the day begins, clarity starts here. Give God your first 15 minutes and watch how peace and purpose flow into every decision you make.

Let’s be honest. You’ve been praying for clarity in your business, but it feels like heaven is silent.

You open your Bible. You say a quick prayer. Then you jump into Slack, your inbox, or a full calendar of tasks.

But that deep sense of peace and purpose? Still missing.

If you’ve ever asked, “Lord, what do You want me to do today?”...and felt like all you got back was silence, this blog post is for you.

You’re Not Broken. You’re Just Busy.

Many founders think something is wrong with their faith or mindset when they can't hear clearly from God. But more often than not, they’re just moving too fast.

I've coached dozens of driven, faith-filled entrepreneurs who truly love Jesus and want His direction but they treat God like a consultant or emergency contact, not the CEO. You don’t need a louder voice from God. You need a quieter life for just 15 minutes a day.

How to Hear from God: The 3-Step “Focus with Faith” Practice

This is the same practice I walk my DRIVEN clients through when they feel disconnected from God and directionless in their business.

Here’s how to begin:

Step 1 – Be Still Before You Build

Before you check notifications. Before you reply to messages. Before you consume content or create it. Start with the Word.

Even one verse invites God into your leadership before the world pulls at you.

This step activates the Discipline pillar of the DRIVEN framework... choosing intentional stillness before reactive hustle. God speaks to those who slow down.

Step 2 – Ask with Intentionality

Once you've created space, pray specific, purpose-driven questions:

  • “Lord, what would You have me focus on today”

  • “Who do You want me to serve”

  • “What can I release that is no longer aligned with You”

Then listen. You don’t need to over-spiritualize this. You may sense a name, a task, a scripture, or simply a gentle nudge. This builds spiritual sensitivity, strategic clarity, and a mindset of co-leadership with God.

Step 3 – Journal the Download

Take what you heard and write it down. Don’t overthink it. Just document what stood out to you. It might be a name, a phrase, a verse, or even a new idea. Over time, these daily notes become a powerful record of God’s faithfulness and leadership in your business.

This is where the Vision pillar of DRIVEN becomes practical. You’re no longer reacting, you’re building based on divine insight.

A glowing Bible open on a clean desk with a notebook, pen, and subtle light coming through a window. Around the Bible are symbolic items like a plant (growth), a clock (time/discipline), and a small vision board or sticky note that says “Focus” or “Vision.” The environment is calm, organized, and designed for deep thought and divine download.
Hearing from God about your business doesn’t require hours, just space to listen. One verse, one question, one moment of stillness can change everything.

What to Do Today if You Want to Hear from God in Business

Here’s a simple challenge: try this rhythm tomorrow.

  • Open your Bible before anything else

  • Ask one focused question

  • Journal what you sense in response

Give God the first 15 minutes and you’ll notice more clarity in your next 15 days. And if you're ready to go deeper, here’s how I can help.

Symbolizes transformation through faith and intentional practice.
